Highlighting CyRIC’s Contributions to the COALESCE Project

21 Jan 2025 | Announcements, News

In 2024, CyRIC, the only certified Business Innovation Center (BIC) in Cyprus, made significant contributions to the COALESCE project, a multidisciplinary initiative focused on integrating energy and ICT networks. As a key collaborator, CyRIC hosted researchers from LUT University, Finland, for secondments that fostered innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

During these secondments, researchers worked closely with CyRIC’s team and local academic experts from IRIDA Research Center of University of Cyprus (UCY), exploring cutting-edge topics such as waveform datasets, wireless communication, and drone technology. This collaboration not only facilitated advancements in research, such as the development of a clustering method for access point selection in cell-free massive MIMO networks but also laid the groundwork for impactful outcomes like joint publications.

The partnership highlights CyRIC’s commitment to innovation and its ability to bridge academia and industry. By providing a dynamic environment for brainstorming and problem-solving, CyRIC has reinforced its reputation as a leader in research and innovation services in Europe. Beyond research, the visiting academics also immersed themselves in Cyprus’ rich culture, blending professional growth with cultural exchange.

CyRIC’s contributions to the COALESCE project reflect its dedication to driving sustainable and integrated technological solutions, aligning with global objectives such as the European Green Deal.
