Job Overview

A skilled and passionate Embedded Engineer is sought to join the Electronics, Communications, and Networks team. The role involves working on projects ranging from prototypes and proof-of-concepts to advanced European research initiatives in fields such as environmental monitoring, smart agriculture, health & safety, and maritime applications.

This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with state-of-the-art technologies in the Internet of Things (IoT) and Automation Systems (AS), collaborating with a dynamic team of R&D engineers and scientists to develop innovative solutions.

Individuals with inquisitive minds and a drive to work on challenging projects in electronics, automation, and industrial systems are encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• MSc/MEng/Dipl.-Ing in Electronics, Computer, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in an industrial, R&D, or academic environment
• Experience in PCB design
• Proficiency with popular MCUs (e.g., ESP32, Arduino, STM32, XIAO)
• Experience in embedded firmware programming using C
• Familiarity with common communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART)
• Experience with peripheral controls (timers, PWM, interrupts)
• Strong debugging skills in embedded systems
• Solid understanding of electronics hardware and schematic diagrams
• Experience with electronics lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, power supplies, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative team spirit

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous

• Experience with Altium PCB Design Software
• Familiarity with the STM32 ecosystem
• Experience with Bluetooth and LoRa/LoRaWAN communication protocols
• Python programming skills
• Experience with Linux-based systems
• Participation in European (H2020, Horizon Europe) or Cyprus RIF-funded projects.
