Job Overview

We are looking for an ambitious Data Scientist with experience in developing and integrating state-of-the-art time series regression and classification models, primarily using data from hardware devices to join our highly creative team. You ‘d be joining a team consisting of both researchers and engineers. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product are essential. We like easy-going, creative people with a love for exploring and extracting insights from data. Due to the research-oriented nature of the company, you will have the opportunity to work on a multitude of technologies through several commercial and innovation projects, in collaboration with many large organisations. Implementations range from standard integration projects to state of the art research projects for a variety of industries.

Job Position Details

  • Hiring Positions: Full-Time Employment
  • Location: CyRIC’s Main Office at Engomi, Nicosia, Cyprus
  • Job Title: Data Scientist
  • Reports To: SW R&D Manager
  • Required Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science or related subject. PhD is considered a plus.
  • Required Experience:  2 – 7 years of experience
  • Language Requirements: English or/and Greek (Fluent verbal and written communication)

Qualifications and Skills

Skills we Need:

  • Proficient in data processing software such as numpy and pandas
  • Experienced in deep learning model development using any popular framework (Tensorflow v2, Pytorch, Keras)
  • Experienced in investigating the feasibility of AI/ML functionalities in software systems through research methods (literature review, hypothesis testing, computational experiments and so on)
  • Good knowledge of model deployment and management, such as Tensorflow Serving or Python Flask
  • Comfortable with setting up ETL pipelines for data visualization or reporting purposes
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts, including hyper-parameter tuning, transfer learning and loss function optimisation
  • Good understanding of relational databases

The following are considered a plus:

  • Experience in time series data manipulation and analysis, especially using Transformer or RNN-based models
  • Experience with Python language, preferably at a production level system
  • Understanding of code versioning tools i.e., Git
  • Knowledge on noSQL databases, microservices development, deployment, and management
  • Creating database schemas that represent and support various project requirements
  • Inquisitive nature and curiosity about new datasets and/or technologies that can be useful to the team
  • Basic familiarity with Linux shell and bash
  • Work experience on EU projects or/and writing of proposals
